Back then the typical outdoor lighting was composed by using 120 volts lamps which were quite expensive. So Locklin decided to improvise and created the outdoor lighting by using jars, tractor headlights and juice cans. He powered it with car battery. Locklin didn’t know that the client was ordering the outdoor lighting because he was waiting a visitor. The visitor was President Dwight Eisenhower with the first lady. Anyhow the Eisenhowers loved this improvised lighting system and ordered one for them. Since then low voltage outdoor lighting is quite popular among gardeners and house owners around the country.

Nowadays low voltage outdoor lighting includes mainly the same product range as usual outdoor lighting. The main difference is that low voltage lighting is powered by 12 volts current. For example most cars use 12 volts current. Low voltage systems usually come with transformer that converts the usual household current to 12 volts current. So as typical outdoor lights low voltage ones usually have timers and moving sensors to control the time when lights are on. Great advantage of low voltage outdoor lighting is that it is safe. 12 volts lamps could be installed or repositioned while the power is on. It is extremely helpful when you want to make changes of your garden lighting at night. Another advantage of low voltage lighting is that wiring is very lightweight compared the standard voltage products. Not to mention the lower energy consumption.

Low voltage outdoor lighting can give the same effect as standard outdoor lighting systems. If you choose low voltage lights then you will reduce the electricity consumption. This means you have contributed to save the word.

Lighting Up The Porch

If you like to enjoy nights with your family friends or colleges sitting talking at the porch you should consider lighting up the area. If its dark then its hard to move in the garden. You should consider installing path way lights so it is safe to move around while it is dark. The trend is that LED lights are replacing traditional lights more often as the time goes by. For example LED lights are being used even in car headlights nowadays. But what is these LED lights? LED is the shorthand of light emitting diode. The first LED was built in the 1920s by Oleg Vladimirovich Losev. LED lights present many advantages over traditional light sources including lower energy consumption, longer lifetime, improved robustness, smaller size and faster switching. However, they are relatively expensive and require more precise current and heat management than traditional light sources.

As LEDs are used in many areas they are widely used in outdoor lighting. The biggest advantage in using LED for outdoor lighting, however, is in the quality and visibility of the light produced. LED outdoor lighting has a comparatively high color temperature, producing what is called a cool light. This increases the uniformity of the light, reduces shadowing and improves vertical illumination. Another cool feature of led outdoor lighting is that LED bulbs are producing much less heat than usual bulbs. Formerly there was some criticism of LED outdoor lighting being not bright enough. In most cases it was justified. Even today some low priced LED outdoor lights could be producing less brightness than your garden needs. On the other hand there are not much complains about brightness among higher priced products.

To sum it up it can be said that if you need extremely bright outdoor lighting then you should consider higher quality LED outdoor lighting solutions or even traditional lighting opportunities which will probably be cheaper than LED lights. On the other hand when choosing LED outdoor lighting, you will get lights with much longer lifetime and with lesser power consumption.

Ideas For Outdoor Landscape Lighting

Lighting up your garden helps making it much more outstanding. Formerly landscape lighting was engineered, designed and installed mainly by experienced professionals. Today, anybody, who has commitment to learn and experiment, can do it without hiring professionals for that. There is a wide range of products available on the market for house owners and gardeners, which can be found on outdoor lighting retailers around the country.

The most commonly asked question in outdoor landscape lighting is: How to attune different types of lighting elements into your landscape? The truth is that there are lots of opportunities to solve that problem. If you have an eye for décor (there are few of them among us) then you will probably figure out quite a good placement for outdoor lighting yourself without any bigger concerns. For others I will give a list of opportunities.

The magic word is experimenting. Try to visualize your garden with lights installed. Then install the lights to your garden and wait for night. When it turns dark, you can adjust yourself and rethink the replacement of lights or try to add some elements for making the lighting more beautiful altogether.

A good way for getting really great ideas is by watching pictures. You can find examples from several outdoor landscape lighting catalogs for example. You can find them on outdoor lighting retailers.

Another good source for example outdoor lighting images is internet of course. Just use some internet search engines to find different image galleries about outdoor lighting.

You can always find out what other people have done to make their gardens light up. For example you can simply take a nice little walk at night around your neighborhood to see what other people have done to make their gardens brighter.

If you still have no good idea then of course you will have the possibility to ask some experts to help you out with outdoor landscape lighting.

Always remember that wisely lightened up garden could give a whole different look to your property.

Lighting trees

Another idea how to make your trees show great at nights. It can give you a extremely good result.

Contact

You can contact us by sending email to davidcllgr@gmail.com

David

Lighting Walls

Great idea how to lighten up your walls. You should install ground lights near the surface of wall. Then focus the lights to upper part of the wall. If the ground lights are placed correctly near the wall, most of the wall surface should be slightly lightened up. The best results will come out when you use colored lights. Blue for example suits for most of the cases. It is cheaper than usual electricity powered outdoor lighting because they are powered by sun. The solar cells collect power during the day. Power gained from sun is stored usually to lithium batteries (varies for different types and models of outdoor solar lights). Typically these solar lights have power enough to keep operating more than 8 hours while in dark. Usually solar lights come with photo sensors. This means they turn on when it is getting dark and switch off after the night has passed. Another great quality of outdoor solar lighting is the lack of need for wiring, transformers or electricity.

Outdoor solar lights can be used for a wide range of scenarios, for example to illuminate parking spot, path way (I have seen marvelous solar stepping stones that fit for every garden) or gates. You can purchase solar lights with moving sensors, so when you come home or someone else is coming to visit you then the outdoor solar lighting will turn on automatically and stay illuminating for a period of time. If you worry about the brightness level of solar lights provide then I say you are wrong. Solar technology is improved rapidly during last years and solar lights will give you the same level of illumination than usual electricity powered lights.

Nowadays outdoor solar lights are more popular than for example 5 years ago. Now they are cheap, come in various shapes and it is very easy to find good quality product. You can probably find solar lights in every garden shop or even in supermarket. Outdoor solar lighting is especial solution for sure. It is not only helping you save on electricity bill, but it is also environment friendly solution. This means by having outdoor solar lights instead of usual ones you will contribute to saving earth.

Privacy Policy

We don't track any of your information nor browsing activity.
