These days I have heard a lot about LED lights. The trend is that LED lights are replacing traditional lights more often as the time goes by. For example LED lights are being used even in car headlights nowadays. But what is these LED lights? LED is the shorthand of light emitting diode. The first LED was built in the 1920s by Oleg Vladimirovich Losev. LED lights present many advantages over traditional light sources including lower energy consumption, longer lifetime, improved robustness, smaller size and faster switching. However, they are relatively expensive and require more precise current and heat management than traditional light sources.
As LEDs are used in many areas they are widely used in outdoor lighting. The biggest advantage in using LED for outdoor lighting, however, is in the quality and visibility of the light produced. LED outdoor lighting has a comparatively high color temperature, producing what is called a cool light. This increases the uniformity of the light, reduces shadowing and improves vertical illumination. Another cool feature of led outdoor lighting is that LED bulbs are producing much less heat than usual bulbs. Formerly there was some criticism of LED outdoor lighting being not bright enough. In most cases it was justified. Even today some low priced LED outdoor lights could be producing less brightness than your garden needs. On the other hand there are not much complains about brightness among higher priced products.
To sum it up it can be said that if you need extremely bright outdoor lighting then you should consider higher quality LED outdoor lighting solutions or even traditional lighting opportunities which will probably be cheaper than LED lights. On the other hand when choosing LED outdoor lighting, you will get lights with much longer lifetime and with lesser power consumption.
